Winter Corn - Framing Idea

Winter Corn - Framing Idea

Sometimes the simplest choice is the best. My painting "Winter Corn" has a lot of texture, so I didn't want a busy frame or mat. I've chosen a simple single mat in Snow White, and a clean satin black wood frame.

If you want to put together this package, you'll need to input the following materials in your framing widget:

Print: 14.00" x 11.13" on Archival Matte Paper
Frame: GLD7 - Gallery - Satin Black wood
Snow White top mat, 2.00"
Glazing: Premium Clear Acrylic with Foamcore Backing
Outer dimensions: 19.50" x 16.63"

Cherub In The Clouds - Framing Idea

Cherub In The Clouds - Framing Idea

"Cherub in the Clouds" is a shot I took of a cherub painted on a carousel rounder. I liked how the clouds in the sky looked like a continuation of the painted clouds surrounding the cherub.

For the frame, I chose a small profile wooden frame from the Slimwoods collection. I've used a dark grey bottom mat, exposing just a quarter inch, so it mimics the painted outlines in the photo. The mat is a white, but not an overly bright white.

If you want to put together this package, you'll need to input the following materials in your framing widget:

Print: 19.75" x 30.00" on Semi-Matte Photo Paper
Frame: SLW6 - Slimwoods - Black/Silver
Manor white top mat, 3.25"
Dark Gray Bottom mat, 0.25"
Glazing: Premium Clear Acrylic with Foamcore Backing
Outer dimensions: 28.25" x 38.50"

Tropicanna Canna - Framing Idea

Tropicanna Canna - Framing Idea

I like this frame so much, I was looking for an excuse to use it. It suits my canna painting, "Tropicanna Canna," very nicely. It's sort of tropical, and echoes some of the shapes in my painting.

There's a lot of texture in this frame, so I kept the matting simple, using just a thin creamy white mat. The purpose of the mat isn't just decorative. It acts as a spacer to keep the clear acrylic glazing off of the face of the print. If you put the glazing directly on the ink surface, there's a possibility that the ink will eventually stick to it, ruining the print.

If you want to put together this package, you'll need to input the following materials in your framing widget:

Print: 23.50" x 36" on Somerset Velvet archival paper
Frame: VN2 - Vintage Collection - Espresso
Manor white top mat, 1.50"
Glazing: Premium Clear Acrylic with Foamcore Backing
Outer dimensions: 33.25" x 45.75"

Farmall Tractor - Framing Idea

Farmall Tractor - Framing Idea

Picking out a frame can be confusing, so I'm here to help!

For this tractor print, I chose a wide, rustic red frame. I own a couple of these frames, so I know them well. This moulding is just the right color of red - vivid enough to make a statement on a wall, but not so bright it overpowers the art. The raised edges are lightly sanded for that worn country look. The top mat is ivory, because nothing should be whiter than the highlights in the clouds I painted. I think the subtle suggestion of red, white, and blue on this American tractor is quite nice.

If you want to put together this package, you'll need to input the following materials in your framing widget:

Print: 10.125" x 14" on Somerset Velvet archival paper
Frame: CUL3 - Country - American Red - Large Profile, 4"
Ivory top mat, 2.25"
Topaz bottom mat, .25"
Glazing: Premium Clear Acrylic with Foamcore Backing
Outer dimensions: 22.38" x 26.25"

New York Stock Exchange - Framing Idea

My painting of the New York Stock Exchange looks great in this black and gold wood frame with cream mat. When I did the initial drawing for this painting, I used black marker to outline the figures, and I think the black frame helps emphasize those. The gold lip gives it a bit of richness, and coordinates with the yellow of the floor.

If you want to put together this package, you'll need to input the following materials in your framing widget:

Print: 7.38" x 16.00" on Somerset Velvet archival paper
Frame: PL6 - Black w/ Gold (PL6)
Top mat: Cream, 1.25"
Bottom mat: None
Glazing: Premium Clear Acrylic with Foamcore Backing
Outer dimensions: 14.63" x 23.25"

Feed Me - Framing Idea

Sometimes the simple solution is the best. This cute little image was done in gouache in an illustration style similar to what you might find in a children's book.

Since the original painting was small, I want to keep the print small as well. I've chosen a very simple treatment, a single snow white mat, and a narrow wood frame designed for small art. The frame echoes some of the colors and textures found in the goat and the background. This anchors the goat, and makes sure we know he's important to the painting.

If you want to put together this package, you'll need to input the following materials in your framing widget:

Print: 5.38" x 8.00" on Somerset Velvet archival paper
Frame: SLW6 - Slimwoods - Black / Silver. Width: 1.13"
Snow white top mat, 1.75"
Bottom mat: None
Glazing: Premium Clear Acrylic with Foamcore Backing
Outer dimensions: 10.88" x 13.50"
